01 About

I like problems that sit between theory and implementation.

I'm Spencer Wang, an incoming computer science student in UT Austin's Turing Scholars Honors Program. I'm drawn to understanding how learning systems work, designing search algorithms, and turning ideas into useful software.

Competitive programming has been central to how I learned algorithms: start with the constraints, look for structure, and test carefully. More recently, I've been studying large language models through both their implementations and underlying mathematics.

Past milestones

Competitive programming

Two milestones from the contests that shaped much of my early study of algorithms.
